Beautiful charming property with breathtaking views

Description

Overlooking Lake Neuchâtel, this sumptuous mansion has all the necessary assets to satisfy the most demanding. Its privileged location offers you a breathtaking view of the lake!

Built in 1690 using noble materials, it has been regularly maintained over the years. It should be noted that all finishes have been preserved during the renovations.

Composed of 12.5 rooms on 2 levels, it has a generous living area of about 380 m². On the other hand, a surface area of approximately 230 m² is available in the attic allowing various arrangements.

With high ceilings, the charm of the old one has been preserved, passing through the original parquet flooring and the magnificent mouldings. In the heart of the living room is a splendid "Louis XVI" fireplace.

Bathed in light thanks to its south-facing position, its numerous bay windows and its windows, it offers a lot of light and optimal sunshine all day long.

It should be noted that it also has a 2.5 room apartment with an independent entrance. This can be intended for both rental and personal use.

Its exterior includes two terraces, a balcony on the first floor and a spacious flowered and fully enclosed garden.

An ideally located lake municipality, 4 km from Neuchâtel, 70 km from Lausanne and 50 km from Bern, Hauterive has direct access to the motorway and a diversity of landscapes between lake and mountain.

Construction

This mansion, known as ‘le château’, probably dates back to 1699, with the earliest estimate at 1690.

In 1732, master carpenter Frédéric Barbezat from Les Verrières constructed a new pavilion roof over the main building and annex.
In 1903, architect Léo Châtelain was commissioned by Charles Zumbach to add modern turrets to the house, which then became known in Hauterive as 'le château'.

In 1997, the residence underwent full renovation and conversion works.

The mix of materials (limestone and yellow stone) is a characteristic feature of the property.

The house is connected to clean water and waste water systems, while the oil-fuelled central heating is distributed via radiators.

A two-car garage completes the property.
