In the 18th century, the town was supported by the two castles of the village, Vinzel and La Bâtie, which then formed a single estate. Today, the Château de Vinzel vineyard, in the heart of the Côte, extends on a gentle slope over 8.5 ha, and produces two Grands Crus in Chasselas and Merlot. Out of the 111 ha of the municipality, 61 ha are dedicated to agriculture and 20 ha to forestry. The 370 inhabitants thus enjoy a bucolic and heritage setting with, in addition to a historic castle, a completely renovated municipal building called "Le Collège" which includes the primary school and the municipal administration. Market gardening plays a major role in Vinzel, including the "Biscotte" beans, which are renowned throughout Switzerland, not to mention the famous "malakoffs de Vinzel" or the best cheese crusts from French-speaking Switzerland served at the best table in the village.
